Sunday, August 30 – Bev Buckingham Retirement Celebration

Bev has been serving as our Interim Supply Pastoral Care Minister for the past few years and her last service with us will be on Sunday, August 30.

An event is being planned to celebrate all her work with the Parkdale family.

There will be a breakfast before the service starting at 9:00 am. If you have a favorite muffin, scone, or other breakfast treat recipe, why not make a batch and bring it to share.

There will also be a short opportunity to wish Bev well over cake, coffee and juice at noon, following the service.

There will be a basket for people to give cards to Bev at the breakfast.

If you wish to make a financial gift to Bev as we bless her re-retirement, there are several ways to do so:

– through your church envelope, specifying “Gift for Bev” on the envelope as well as the amount.

– e-transfer to Deposits@parkdaleunitedchurch.ca, again noting “Gift for Bev” in the comments.

Sunday, September 6: Rally Sunday Intergenerational Worship

This annual event will take place at 11:00 a.m. in the Parkdale Park celebrating “The Season of Creation”. It will be followed by a fall fair in the church gym with sweet corn on the cob and cake. Join us as we welcome the fall and the beginning of school together.

Until September 13 – Summer Sunday School

Children and youth will enjoy a movie and popcorn time in the Upper Room beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays this summer. If your child has not registered for Sunday school this year, please email Huda to register at huda@parkdaleunitedchurch.ca
