Cornerstone Housing for Women
in Ottawa experienced severe flooding during the July 1st storm, damaging mattresses, kitchen supplies, essential equipment, and residents’ personal belongings. Our church community is invited to support their recovery by giving financially to help replace what was lost and restore safe, stable living conditions for women in crisis. WALKS WITH GOD
You’re invited to Wednesday Walk with God—a gentle, reflective walk that brings together nature, faith, fellowship, and creativity.
As nature lovers, Bev Buckingham and Jennifer Payne are piloting these walks in July and August. If there is interest, we hope to make them a regular Parkdale activity.

What to Expect
- Welcome & Reflection – Meet fellow walkers and begin with a short prayer and theme.
- Quiet Walk – A gentle walk ~15-minute for prayer, reflection, or simply enjoying God’s presence in nature.
- Pause & Reflect – Share insights, journal, sketch, or quietly observe your surroundings (~20 mins)
- Sensory Walk – Notice God’s creation through what you see, hear, smell, feel, and wonder about (~15mins).
- Connect & Create – Help create a simple nature-inspired community art piece (without disturbing the environment), followed by light refreshments and fellowship. (~45minutes)
What to Bring
Comfortable walking shoes, Weather-appropriate clothing, Water bottle, Journal or sketchbook (optional), Camera or phone (optional), Sunscreen and insect repellent, A small snack to share (optional)

Movie & Popcorn: Sunday June 28 – Sept. 13
Children and youth will enjoy a movie and popcorn time in the Upper Room. If your child has not registered for Sunday school this year, please email Huda to register and let us know if there are any allergies. Please pick up your children from the upper room after the service.

SMART AGING
Sept. 14th to Nov. 9th 2026 – 1 to 3 pm
Parkdale United Church hosts Smart Aging, a series of eight weekly, interactive workshops covering key topics facing seniors today. Designed to provide information you need, before you need it, to make smart decisions at key transition points in your life. Cost is $69.00. Participants should plan to attend all 8 workshops. Donations to Parkdale
There are several ways to make a donation to Parkdale
- Cash or cheques can be added to the offering plate that is circulated each Sunday. To receive a tax receipt, you can use a blue envelope (supplies are in the pews) and provide your name and address
- Personal boxes of envelopes are provided on request. They are now available for the 2026 year. You can place cash or a cheque in your uniquely numbered envelope and add it to the offering plate that is circulated each Sunday. Tax receipts will be provided after the end of each calendar year.
- Donations can also be made directly through your bank account or credit card using Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR). Givings are deducted automatically from your bank account or charged to your credit card once a month. PAR forms and information can be printed from the church website –https://parkdaleunitedchurch.ca/supporting-parkdale/
- E-transfer: donations can be made by sending an e-transfer to deposits@parkdaleunitedchurch.ca. Make sure you note what the donation is for and provide your name and address information for a tax receipt.
- Canada Helps is an agency that accepts donations for Canadian charities for a small fee, and then forwards the donation to the church. Canada Helps issues the tax receipt. There is a link to Canada Helps on the Parkdale website.
