Music and Worship Arts Director

Keith joined the Parkdale team in August 2021.  Keith has nine years of experience as a music director in the United Church of Canada, most recently as organist, choir director and praise team leader at Wall Street United Church in Brockville.  Keith has degrees in Music Performance from McGill University and the University of Toronto, and currently is an Associate Performance Teacher at Carleton University. He is a multi-instrumentalist—in addition to playing piano and organ, he also specializes in Tuba, Sousaphone, Electric and Acoustic Bass. On the Ottawa music scene, he has played with a number of bands, particularly Mélanie E, a quartet featuring his wife Mélanie Hartshorn-Walton on French Jazz vocals.  He has worked with several community choirs, including the Concordia Choir of Ottawa and children’s choirs including the Children’s Choir at Notre Dame Cathedral.

We are very pleased to welcome Keith; we feel he will be a great fit for Parkdale and we’re excited by the possibilities for our music and worship arts program under his direction!
